We recently extended host reservations with a mechanism to store user context. user context is basically any JSON that the use can attach to configuration elements. It is now supported in global, shared-network, subnet, pool, host reservation, option, option definition, client-class, control-socket, dhcp-ddns, interfaces, loggers, and for DHCPv6 pd-pool and server-id.

These user contexts are not processed by Kea, just stored and made available for user hooks.

Cassandra backend doesn't support it. It should. See #5351 for a ticket that added it to other configuration elements.

Those changes were implemented in github70, which is now merged.

Thanks for writing and contributing the code, Razvan.
