I have debug turned on, but for each and every lease, it always states: "Lease Expires On: 19700101000000".

This is for both IPv4 & IPv6.

  • Milestone changed from Kea1.1-final to Kea-proposed

Hello Zaffron:

Thanks for reporting the issue. What's being displayed is the expiration value from the NameChangeRequest? sent to D2 by kea-dhcp6. At the moment kea-dhcp6 is setting this value to zero. While it looks a bit odd it is harmless as no decision making is currently based on its value. We use the value shown as Lease Length for determining the DNS TTL.

We did spot this during work on #5007 but had not yet opened a ticket for it. Code freeze for 1.1.0-final is tomorrow so we will have to address it in an upcoming release.

You shouldn't be seeing it with v4 as kea-dhcp4 was modified some time ago to use the function isc::dhcp::queueNCR() which sets the value correctly. kea-dhcp6 has not yet undergone this change.
