Description

a request from the Feb 2013 BIND 10 training in Amsterdam:

it would be nice to be able to write log information into a (SQL) database.

logging to an SQL database would make searching for certain messages easy, and it would ease the task of creating a management interface (web or gui)

I'm afraid this requires some fundamental changes in the log library;
in the current architecture this level of destination is handled in
the underlying external library (log4cplus right now).

well, we could write a custom appender, I think.

As Jelte pointed out, we could write a custom appender for this.

Note that in the meantime one can configure syslog-ng to log to SQL.

As always, patches are happily accepted if anyone is feeling inspired. :)
