What specifically do you mean by "reconfigure zones"? Could you be
more specific?

Thanks,

comment:2 follow-up: Changed 8 years ago by corbachev

thanks for your attention.

by reconfigure zones:

  • able to edit already configured zone files
  • able to upload zone file (may have option to update already configured zone file)

Replying to corbachev:

thanks for your attention.

by reconfigure zones:

  • able to edit already configured zone files
  • able to upload zone file (may have option to update already configured zone file)

(I should have also checked this: we are talking about BIND 10, not
BIND 9, right? Sometimes we receive BIND 9 related questions/comments
on BIND 10 specific forums (ML, bug tickets), but right now we
separated these mainly because of the experimental state of BIND 10.
If you're asking about a web interface for BIND 9, please send it to
bind9-suggest@…).

Now, assuming it's about BIND 10:

These look nice, and we'll certainly consider some GUI-like user
interfaces at some point. Right now, however, we'll need to focus on
other infrastructure features such as completing the implementation of
standard DNS protocols, stabilizing overall system, etc. So it won't
take place very soon.

Also, (at least in my personal understanding) one major goal of BIND
10 is to provide the infrastructure on which others can build
sophisticated user interfaces, while we may develop some of such
things mainly to show how to do it, but we'd probably rather expect
(and hope) others will develop and publish even nicer user interfaces
on top of the base system.

Anyway, we'll keep this ticket open so we can revisit it when we reach
the stage of enhancing the user interface.

Thanks,
